IPC-7711/7721 Course Description

IPC, a nationally recognized electronic manufacturing trade association, has released the "IPC-7711/7721 Training and Certification Program."

This comprehensive program provides electronics manufacturers a uniform method for training and certifying both the knowledge and physical skills of their in-house production personnel to the requirements of IPC-7711 Rework of Electronic Assemblies and IPC-7721 Repair and Modification of Printed Board and Electronic Assemblies.

Solder Solutions offers both IPC-7711/7721 Registered Instructor and the IPC-7711/7721 Operator Proficiency Certification Courses either at our Training Center or on-site at your facility

Certification Overview

The IPC-7711/7721 Operator Proficiency Course is modularized with the duration ranging from two (2) to seven (7) days depending on skills and knowledge required by the individual student. Attendees will receive a Student Handbook and must assemble and solder acceptable workmanship samples. Students who successfully complete this Course are awarded an IPC Operator Proficiency Certification valid for two (2) years. The modularized design of this Course allows students to start with the most common modules and build upon their certification with other modules.

  • Module 6: Leaded SMT [Optional] - QFP & J-Leaded
  • Module 7: Printed Wiring [Optional] - Trace Repair
  • Module 8: Laminate Repair [Optional] - Board Repair
  • Module 9: Coating Materials [Optional] - Conformal Coating

The ideal candidates for this course are Production Operators, Inspectors, Technicians, Rework Operators, Quality Control, Manufacturing and Process Engineers and Management personnel who desire to expand their comprehension of the rework and repair techniques in the IPC-7711/7721 specification and receive verification of their hand rework and repair skills.
